Terms of Service

1. The arrangement

handshakesignatures (“we”, “us”) provides a web-based service for uploading documents, placing signature fields, sending those documents to recipients for digital signature, and receiving sealed copies with an audit trail. By creating an account or signing a document through this service, you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your password secret. Anything that happens under your account — including documents sent — is treated as your action. We don't require an account to sign a document; the signing party only needs the email link.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to defraud, impersonate, or send malware. Don't attempt to circumvent the audit trail, the SHA-256 seal, or the rate limits. Don't bulk-upload documents you don't have the right to send. We may terminate accounts that abuse the service.

4. Plans & payment

Free Sample plan accounts get up to 3 lifetime documents. Paid plans ($5/user/month) are billed monthly via Stripe and renew automatically. Cancel any time from the customer portal; access continues through the end of the paid period. Pricing may change with at least 30 days' notice on this page.

5. Documents you upload

You retain all rights to documents you upload. We don't read them, train on them, or share them with anyone other than the recipients you choose. Documents are encrypted at rest and in transit. You can delete documents at any time; deletion removes the file but the audit-event log is preserved for integrity.

6. Legal validity

Signatures collected through the service are intended to comply with the U.S. ESIGN Act (2000) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). We capture intent, identity (verified email), timestamp, IP address, and user agent. Whether a specific signature is enforceable depends on the underlying contract and jurisdiction; consult your lawyer.

7. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but make no guarantee. The service is provided “as is”. Liability is limited to the fees you paid in the prior 12 months.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. On termination, your sealed PDFs remain downloadable for 30 days; their cryptographic integrity does not depend on our servers being online.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. Disputes will be resolved in Denver County courts.
